Alyssa Malmer

Hi! My name is Ms. Malmer, and I am thrilled to be part of this new opportunity with The SPPS Online School! I will be teaching Physical Education and Health; my favorite topics to teach are Strength Training, Nutrition, and Alcohol/Tobacco/Other Drugs.

I have always called the Twin Cities home; I grew up near the east side of St. Paul in Mahtomedi, and attended the University of Minnesota for both my Bachelors and Masters programs. After graduating with a Masters of Education in Applied Kinesiology from the U of M in 2015, I began my teaching career with SPPS at Central High School, and have taught in several other metro school districts. In addition, I have experience as a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, corporate wellness professional, and youth sports coach.

One of my favorite ways to spend free time is with my family; I am fortunate to live just a few minutes from my parents, grandparents, and older brother. I enjoy exercising in all forms, and especially love playing in softball and volleyball leagues throughout the year. I also enjoy reading, watching drama TV shows, cheering on the Rays and Blazers, making music playlists, attending concerts (especially boy bands), and knitting.
