SCHOOL COUNSELING VISION STATEMENT
All students from SPPS Online K-12 School are courageous, bright and bold in pursuing their dreams and engage in lifelong learning in post secondary & career opportunities that align with and honor their individual values, interests & strengths. Our students are compassionate, inspired, resilient, and empowered to advocate for themselves and others in order to enact positive change in their diverse local and global communities.

SCHOOL COUNSELING MISSION STATEMENT
The school counseling program at SPPS Online K-12 School fosters the success of all students in school and in life by providing equitable access to the supports and advocacy students need to succeed. The data-driven program helps all students develop academic, social emotional, and career/postsecondary skills to prepare them to think critically, pursue their dreams, and change the world.

  • Mental health problems are common, affecting 1 in 5 students from kindergarten through high school.
  • Mental health problems can affect the student’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being and can interfere with their learning and daily functioning at home and in school.
  • Students who receive mental health services improve their social-emotional functioning and academic performance.

In many Saint Paul Public Schools, students may have direct access to mental health services at school and during school hours.
